Looking Back: 1st Year of BeadingSchool

Hey beautiful! In today’s video we will be celebrating one year of BeadingSchool with a look back and a Giveaway! Please enter on the form below for a chance to win one 2022 Signature Bead Box from BeadingSchool:

About BeadingSchool:

I was introduced to Erika (creative mastermind and jewelry artist behind BeadingSchool), and some of the members of the team, right around the time they were launching BeadingSchool, one year ago. Also around this time, many of us found out that Swarovski Crystal would no longer be in the DIY crystal business; unwelcome news for many beaders! Coincidentally, though, BeadingSchool is located in Europe, and they source many of their products directly from the crystal valley. BeadingSchool carries an amazing array of Preciosa crystal products (among so many other high-quality items), which are a wonderful stand-in for Swarovski. In fact, BeadingSchool is now an official Preciosa for Creators partner!

BeadingSchool also has a growing number of specialty bead boxes, which have been carefully curated by members of the team. The Fuchsia boxes, in particular, make for a wonderful way to sample all sorts of Preciosa crystal product lines, specialty components, historic filigree, and more. It is their aim to make opening each BeadingSchool package feel like a celebratory event, often including free sweet treats, or small gifts with each order!

More Than a Bead Shop:

BeadingSchool is much more than a bead shop, though! It is an extension of Erika’s atelier; meant to make you feel like you are pulling out her drawers, looking into her organizers and that you are selecting beads for your next jewel together.

They are especially proud of their collection of material that’s hard, or impossible, to find elsewhere: historic filigree, art cabochons, Preciosa cup-chain, and more. Not only can you purchase materials from the shop, but you will also find recommendations on how to use them, how to put together creative color combinations, and see beautiful jewels made by fellow beaders.

In addition, every Friday the team at BeadingSchool and fellow beaders come together for an open workshop, which is available to everyone, world-wide. They started to bead together in March 2020 during the first lockdown to make sure that #NoOneHasToBeadAlone, and the weekly sessions have been going on ever since! I think that is very special commitment, and she should feel proud for keeping it going all this time

My Favorites from BeadingSchool:

1. Bi-Monthly BeadingSchool Subscription: BeadingSchool Academy!

BeadingSchool Academy

It’s a fun beady experience, designed and guided by Erika, that comes with an inspiring collection of beads and components every 2 months, an e-learning area with articles and beading tutorials, and a community of Beadingschool Students who shape the whole experience together. Every second month, we’ll explore a different theme. You’ll step into a story, where beads and components will feel like artifacts from a magical world. There will be articles introducing you the inspiration behind the themes: artistic styles like Art Nouveau or Art Deco, famous characters like Vincent Van Gogh, painter of the Starry Night, or special places like Rajasthan, the land of maharajas, or Marrakesh and its thousand-year-old colors, joy, and traditions. The beads and components that you receive will become jewels for the main character of these stories = YOU.

2. The Moonlit Terrace and Cherry Blossom Festival limited edition bead boxes, curated by yours truly!

These Fuchsia Boxes are dangerously good! I’ve had the pleasure of sharing many of them through video unboxings on my YouTube channel. There is probably no better way to sample specific product lines of Preciosa Crystal than by picking up these jam-packed, little pink packages!
