How to Make the Sunflower Field Pendant – 25mm Cabochon

Watch the Video

Hey everyone! In today’s video I will show you how to make the Sunflower Field Pendant, which contains a 25mm round pressed glass cabochon at the center. Round DropDuo beads will transform the seed bead and crystal bicone bezel into a floral shape, reminiscent of a sunflower. Perfect, especially for this time of year, right?!

I’d love to see this done in ACTUAL sunflower colors too someday; golden yellow, rusty red, chocolate brown…the list goes on!  Please see below for the full list of materials, and specific details about the different colorways:

Materials List (one pendant):

✔ 1 – 25mm Round Cabochon

✔ 14 – Round DropDuo Beads

✔ 14 – 3mm Crystal Bicone Beads

✔ 28 – 2mm Round or Fire Polished Beads

✔ 2g – 11/0 Delica or Seed Beads

✔ 2g – 15/0 Seed Beads

✔ Beading Thread, 6 lb. Fireline

✔ Beading Needle, Size 11-12

✔ Scissors

Turning the Pendant into a Necklace:

In this video, I also show you how to make a simple beaded bail on the back of the pendant with seed beads. It will accommodate various stringing materials, such as chain, ribbon, or cord. You can also add this pendant to a beaded necklace strung with additional beads on bead stringing wire.

stainless steel chain necklaceFor the finished examples below, the pendants have simply been added to ready-made stainless steel chain necklaces from Beebeecraft. They come in both a gold and antique silver tone, and already have the lobster clasp and jump ring attached. The fact that they are made of stainless steel means that they will resist tarnish, and they are hypo-allergenic! I love how easy these make it to swap out various beaded pendant creations on a moment’s notice.
