More About the Adele Earrings

When I saw the long tourmaline green crystal drops (in gold settings) arrive in the BeadingSchool Academy subscription box, it was love at first sight! The dramatic length, and and gorgeous faceted glass caught my eye, and I was drawn to incorporating them into a design right away. Used in an earring design, as shown above, the open back of these drop components will allow for light to shine through, which should look dazzling when worn out in the sunlight.

The bead woven piece, which you will learn how to make in the video, allows for flexibility with whichever style of drop bead, or crystal drop component you choose to use at the bottom (if any), and the type of earring findings you desire. As you can see in the green and gold example, post earrings are sewn into the beadwork, but in the purple and silver example, earring hooks are incorporated.

Bead woven components make for a great springboard to other coordinating beaded jewelry pieces. In addition to making the Adele earrings, these components could be created in multiples, then sew together to form a bracelet. One could also be used to make a pendant, or several strung together to make a necklace.

TIP: For some reason, my green and gold earrings felt a bit tighter than the purple variety, so depending on your tension, just sew around the beads again, once the piece is complete, to reinforce the pearl cabochon. You may find that it helps to sew around the base of round beads again to help the cab feel really snug.
