Netted Bicone and Herringbone Bracelet Tutorial

Welcome!

Hey beautiful! In today’s beading tutorial I will show you how to make a design that I am calling the Netted Bicone and Herringbone Bracelet. This piece combines the basic beading stitch, herringbone, and the look of beaded netting around bicones. It’s very simple to adjust the length of this bracelet; simply extend the lengths of herringbone beading stitch, or add additional rows of netting. 11/0 rounds seed beads may also be substituted for the Delica beads, if you choose.

Whether you decide to use Swarovski, Preciosa, or Chinese crystal 4mm bicone beads, this bracelet is sure to sparkle delicately on its wearer’s wrist. You’ll notice in the golden example I used three different colors of bicones, but in the blue example, I went with a single color. Have fun picking out colors and finishes, and making this piece suit your style, and your stash.

Netted Bicone and Herringbone Bracelet

I was inspired to create this bracelet while playing around with new design possibilities that incorporate the flat herringbone bead weaving stitch. At the beginning of the flat herringbone 101 video tutorial, I showcased several different examples of flat herringbone designs. The basic beading stitch has so many different possibilities; the look changes drastically when using different types of beads, bead sizes, and the width of rows.

More herringbone-inspired designs will come in the near future. Specifically, the piece that I shared with the 3mm bugle beads and CzechMates two-hole Tile beads, in particular, will be coming next month. I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and feel free to let me know if you gave it a try!
