About the Bugle Bead Ribbon Bracelet

This bracelet pattern originated when I was playing around with the contents of the Serene Lavender monthly collection by Eureka Crystal Beads.

Feel free to simply use bugle beads and 11/0 seed beads, if that’s all you have. This design works very well with either seed beads or Miyuki Delica beads in the background. I recommend choosing colors that will contrast with the bugles, so the wavy ribbon effect really stands out.

Colors Used in Tutorial:

Bugles — Matte Cobalt AB

Delica #1 — Matte Metallic Silver Gray

Delica #2 — Galvanized Silver

Charlottes — Crystal Vitrail Duplex

How the Design Evolved

The very first version I made is the green/purple combo, second from the right. This is an example of the bracelet, created with bugles and 11/0 seed beads only; even in place of the Charlottes.

The next bracelet I created is the one in cream/green gold, second from the left. This bracelet also contains 11/0 seed beads in the background in place of Delica beads, and the ribbon portion is a little bit wider.

Finally, the red version is the one I settled on to model for the tutorial instruction, but I realized afterward that I didn’t have the bugles folded the same way along the entire bracelet – oops!  That’s okay, I am used to making mistakes; I chalk it up to a learning experience, and move on. Most won’t notice, unless I point it out, and I’ll be keeping it for myself to enjoy. 😁
